Online Degree Cost Comparison Online
Education: The Benefits
Getting a degree online is becoming more and more of an option for high school
graduates as well as for older Americans.
Going to college by sitting in front of one's own personal computer is just
about as easy as it can get.
Progressing at your own pace, not having to be at a certain place at a certain
time, going to class in your jammies...all of these things are very appealing to
people of all ages...the young and the old alike.
Another real benefit with getting an education and a college degree online is
the cost. Going to a brick-and-mortar college or university means that the
student and/or his family are going to be in debt for years as they struggle to
pay off student loans.
A college education online can be paid for as you go, and there doesn't have to
be a mountain of debt waiting to be retired when the student gets his or her
degree.
Time is yet another beneficial factor of an online education and an online
degree. Brick-and-mortar colleges and universities have this annoying habit of
expecting students to show up for class on time and on specified days of the
week.
Attending classes online can be done at any time that is convenient for that
online student.
Usually lectures are posted online, and the online student can either read them
online of download them or both. Assignments are also posted online.
The timeframe for turning in assignments is usually much less stringent than
that of colleges and universities out in the real world.
There are a multitude of reasons and advantages for taking college courses
online and either partially or entirely earning a college degree online.
It is an option that many parents and students are choosing more and more
often.

The Era of the Online Education
The personal computer has changed the world forever. It leveled the playing
field.
Anybody with access to a computer has access to all of the information in the
whole world. It is right at their fingertips, and all they must do to access it
is to ask the right questions.
Back in the distant past, education was a luxury that only the very wealthy had
access to.
Only the children of the privileged could get a college education. That has
changed.
Nowadays, anybody with the desire and a computer can get a college degree.
Federal financial aid is available to those who qualify, and scholarships are
available as well.
Student loans can be made for an online education just like for an education at
a brick-and-mortar college or university.
Age, race, religion, or economic status are not factors considered for those
choosing to get a degree online.
Online education does not have to be limited to college degrees. High school
diplomas can be obtained online by people of all ages.
There are courses and instruction available for almost any topic you can
possibly think of.
The age of information has arrived and is thriving on this wonderful place we
call the Internet...the World Wide Web....the information superhighway.
If you want a high school diploma or a college diploma, or you just want to
learn how to build a really cool birdhouse, you can!
If you want to take a few college courses just so you know more than you did,
you can do that without breaking your household budget to smithereens.
You can learn how to start and run an online business. You can even learn to
cook, if that is your heart's desire. There is no limit to the
possibilities! |

Degree Equals More Money
The earning pyramid works something like this. On the bottom are those who do
not have a GED (General Education Diploma). They will earn less than anybody
else over their lifetimes.
The next lowest earners are those who have a GED or who just barely got through
high school by the skin of their teeth.
The next highest earning level are those who completed high school while earning
good grades and got their high school diploma.
On the next level are those who have associate's degrees; then comes the level
that has Bachelor of Arts or Science degrees.
Above that level are those who have master's degrees, and above them are the
ones who have doctorates.
It is just a fact of life. The more education you have, the more earning
potential you gain. Unless you were born rich, you need earning potential.
Without a college degree, most people will slave away all of their lives in
dead-end jobs while just barely scraping by financially.
They won't have many, if any, luxuries and will consider themselves fortunate if
they have the necessitates. An online college degree can greatly improve their
prospects.
Online college degrees offer virtually the same opportunities for earning power
that degrees obtained at brick-and-mortar colleges offer. The main differences
are the cost of each and the time required to get them.
Those who are well past college age don't have to give up the dream of getting a
college education and improving their lifetime earning power.
They can take college courses online at a very reasonable cost and at their own
pace. Eventually, they will accumulate enough credits to be granted a college
degree, and then the sky is the limit.
