The Challenges of Getting an Online Degree Online Education
Certificates
What exactly is a certificate, and how does it differ from a degree?
Certificates and degrees are two entirely different things.
A college degree means that a person has completed a pre-set and prescribed
course of study that covers many aspects of education. All college graduates
will have successfully completed courses in English, literature, mathematics,
science, etc., no matter what their degree major is.
A certificate, on the other hand, means that a person has successfully completed
a prescribed course in a specific field. He has not taken courses in English,
literature, mathematics, science, etc. He has only studied a very specific and
narrow subject.
Once he completes this prescribed course of study, he is given a certificate
that indicates his successful completion.
Certificates are issued by brick-and-mortar colleges and universities as well as
online colleges and universities.
A certificate can serve the needs of students who have very well-defined goals.
Certificate programs are focused on the mastery of particular skills rather than
on a broad education that a degree provides.
Certificates can save students time as well as money by allowing them to take
courses that focus entirely upon the skills that they need to achieve specific
goals.
Certificates can be earned in such widely varying fields as paralegal,
financing, and health care.
A certificate issued for successful completion of a course concerning forensic
nursing, case management or geriatric care can help those in the health care
field narrow their specialties, for example.
There are even certification programs that are tied directly to professional
licensing or certification examinations.
Almost all of the certificates that can be gotten in real-world brick-and-mortar
colleges and universities can also be gotten online.
Acquiring online certificates can prove to be much less expensive and easier on
the time requirements.

An Online Degree and a New Career Religious Degrees Online
People get online religious degrees online every day. It is not an unusual
circumstance.
There are brick-and-mortar schools dedicated to religious instruction and
preparation of students for careers that are religion-based, of course, but
these schools are not located in places that are convenient or even possible for
many who would like to earn a degree in religion to attend.
Additionally, people who wand to earn degrees in religion want to earn them
based upon the religion that they practice and believe in. That is where online
degrees in religion can help.
No matter what religious beliefs that you want your degree in religion to be
based upon, you can find an online degree program that will meet your
requirements.
An evangelical Christian will want to enroll in a program that is based upon his
evangelical religious beliefs, for example.
Many people enroll in online or distance learning religious education courses to
learn to read Arabic or Hebrew.
Some people enroll in religious courses online to simply satisfy their curiosity
or to gain a greater understanding of their faith.
Many churches stipulate that their ministers, associate ministers, and youth
counselors have college diplomas....not all, of course, but some.
Organized religions all have a business structure, and some religions demand
that those who work within that business structure are educated in the beliefs
of the organization as well as in business.
Online education, or distance learning as it is sometimes called, can make
earning a degree in religion much easier and less expensive for students.
Oftentimes brick-and-mortar schools that teach religion are even more
financially strapped than other learning institutions, and tuition can be very
expensive. Online education and earning an online degree can be done for a
fraction of the cost. |

Degrees and Technology
First there was the industrial revolution that changed the world; but now the
industrial revolution has been replaced with the computer revolution, and that
has changed the world even more drastically than the industrial revolution.
The entire world seems to operate on computers today. You can hardly live on
this planet today without interacting in some way with a computer. Technology
rules!
Those who have the technology skills to build a website, or who have the
knowledge of how to defeat hackers, viruses, or identity thieves, are in great
demand in the world today.
That demand is not going to decrease....it is only going to grow larger by the
day.
Degrees in technology fields can be earned online at accredited online
universities or colleges that will open the door to employment in technology
fields as wide and as varied as computer security to health care.
Of course, the world needs people who are educated in many fields, and
employment for those with a good education -- a college degree -- is almost a
sure thing no matter what the field is. But those with degrees in technology
have a leg up on just about every other field because all fields relate to
technology in some way.
There is an old saying, “Build a better mouse trap and the world will beat a
path to your door.” In today's world, it could be changed to build a better
mouse.
The world hinges on technology, and the computer is the very hub of that
technology.
The most important aspect of choosing an online college or university program
from which to get your degree in any of the technology fields is to be
absolutely certain that the college or university is one that is accredited.
You want your degree to open doors...not slam them in your face.
