A Degree in Education Online Online Nursing Degrees
Nursing and health care is not only big business; it is an industry that is
vital to all humans.
Fortunately for the rest of humanity, there are those who are simply born into
this world destined to become nurses.
At one time back BC (Before Computers) the only way that a young man or woman
could get a nursing degree and become a nurse was to go to a college or
university and spend a small fortune acquiring that degree.
The size of classes was very limited, and being accepted into a nursing program
was difficult. Times have changed!
Standards have always been understandably high for those who want to acquire a
degree in nursing and become practicing registered nurses. The standards have
not been lowered.
They are still very, very high but the method by which a degree can be obtained
has been forced into the twenty-first century.
Today, young men and women who wish to obtain a degree in nursing can attend
online classes rather then having to be physically present at a lecture or a
non-technical class that is required for a nursing degree.
These young people can continue to hold down full-time jobs and meet their
ongoing financial responsibilities while they work on getting the nursing degree
that they really want.
The online nursing courses are usually structured so that a student may log on
and find lectures and assignments when he can fit it into his schedule rather on
specific dates and times.
There are times when students are required to log in at specific times for
online chats, but not very often. Testing is done in different ways.
Some schools allow written work to take the place of tests, while others will
require a student to go to a specific location to take a test.

The Era of the Online Education
The personal computer has changed the world forever. It leveled the playing
field.
Anybody with access to a computer has access to all of the information in the
whole world. It is right at their fingertips, and all they must do to access it
is to ask the right questions.
Back in the distant past, education was a luxury that only the very wealthy had
access to.
Only the children of the privileged could get a college education. That has
changed.
Nowadays, anybody with the desire and a computer can get a college degree.
Federal financial aid is available to those who qualify, and scholarships are
available as well.
Student loans can be made for an online education just like for an education at
a brick-and-mortar college or university.
Age, race, religion, or economic status are not factors considered for those
choosing to get a degree online.
Online education does not have to be limited to college degrees. High school
diplomas can be obtained online by people of all ages.
There are courses and instruction available for almost any topic you can
possibly think of.
The age of information has arrived and is thriving on this wonderful place we
call the Internet...the World Wide Web....the information superhighway.
If you want a high school diploma or a college diploma, or you just want to
learn how to build a really cool birdhouse, you can!
If you want to take a few college courses just so you know more than you did,
you can do that without breaking your household budget to smithereens.
You can learn how to start and run an online business. You can even learn to
cook, if that is your heart's desire. There is no limit to the
possibilities! |

There is simply not much of a cost comparison in dollar bills to be made between
the cost of earning and on-site or and online degree. Online cost wins hands
down!
It is SO much cheaper to attend college online than it is to attend college
on-site (i.e. traditional college campus) -- in money. But, as an old friend
once told me, “You always give up something for something.”
It is absolutely true that a degree obtained online is exactly the same as the
same degree obtained at a brick-and-mortar university. There is no difference at
all. The requirements are the same.
The same number of credit hours is required, and the same courses must be
successfully completed. One is just as good as the other in most instances.
There are, however, major differences in the experience.
Those differences need to be entered as part of the equation when a person is in
a position to choose between getting an online degree or a traditional on-site
degree.
When getting a degree at a traditional college or university, a student is
required to attend classes on specific days of the week and at specific times.
When getting a degree online, specific days and times don't come into play.
Schedules are flexible. The same work must be completed, but the time in which
that work must be completed is less fixed. Well, chalk that one up for online
degrees.
Degrees obtained in the traditional college setting allow students the ability
to interact with other students and with their professors and instructors.
Degrees obtained online do not allow for that interaction with other students or
with instructors or professors. Well, chalk that one up for traditional
colleges.
The bottom line is that there are advantages as well as disadvantages for both
choices. Remember...you always give up something for something.
